Bedside
During that last visit:
In the evenings my brother was mostly confined to his bed, the exhaustion from the radiation treatment did not help.
The tumour, treatment and medication had impacted his concentration, his focus was impaired and at times he displayed what to me, looked as dementia like symptoms.
It was very hard at times, to miss the look of confusion and disarray on his face - at times he would have a very short fuse or would respond on a completely different topic.
And then,
He would come back to us. Would return to telling funny stories, jokes and let the stories carry him to interesting places.
We desperately clung onto each moment of joy, we could find, before the next moment when he would disappear again.
